about

"Pierce the Empire with a Sound" is the second full-length album from the long running project of Nathan Burke (FRODUS). Recorded between 2004 and 2007, and originally released in 2008, this album was mixed by Teppei Teranishi (THRICE) and features everyone from Teranishi to his bandmate DUSTIN KENSRUE (THRICE), Burke's wife and daughter, vocalist Sean Ingram (COALESCE), drummer Andy Gale (CORN ON MACABRE), and a host of DC/Virginia-area musicians from the era (Paul Michel, Chaz Barber, Bob Massey, Aaron Reed, and more).

Issued initially on Lujo Records, Pax Aeternum is thrilled to be representing the album moving forward.

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. Colossians 2:8

I have been very blessed to work with some amazingly talented people on this record who put in their time and talents for no glory and little or no money - you have my deepest gratitude. Immense thanks to Rachel and Scarlet. Glory to God - world without end.

Former Frodus bassist returns wielding synths instead of guitars creating poetic post-punk ambient music with nods to dark/synthwave. The influences: visits to Tokyo, where there is adventure in any possible direction; the curious and confrontational nature of beauty; and the way wandering can remake a person ... more
